Starboard

Use Starboard to collect community-selected highlights in one destination without weakening existing channel visibility. The default is ⭐ with a threshold of three distinct human accounts.

Set up your first board

Open Starboard in the Guardy dashboard.
Choose an eligible text channel or create #starboard from the channel dialog. When Join Gate protection is active, Guardy gives the new channel the same protection.
Review the visible defaults: ⭐ and three eligible reactions.
Choose Turn on Starboard. Guardy checks the channel's current visibility and its posting permissions before saving.
To test it, hover over an eligible message on desktop or press and hold it on mobile, choose Add Reaction, then choose ⭐. The message author and bot accounts do not count toward the threshold.

Free includes one configured board. Premium includes up to five. Each board has its own destination, emoji, threshold, and exclusions.

Guardy recounts normal reactions from distinct human accounts before publishing. Self-stars, bot reactions, and burst reactions do not count. A member can contribute at most one eligible reaction to a source message for that board.

The threshold can be set from 2 to 25. A board uses exactly one Unicode emoji or one custom emoji from the server. If a configured custom emoji is deleted or becomes unavailable, the board pauses and asks an owner to replace it.

Eligible sources

Launch support covers ordinary user messages in text and announcement channels that have an @everyone visibility baseline. Join Gate-protected channels are eligible when the Starboard destination keeps the same role out. Guardy excludes:

private channels and sources whose audience is broader than the destination can safely preserve
channels with member-specific visibility or role visibility allows
age-restricted channels
threads and forum posts
messages created by bots or webhooks
system and interaction messages
the Starboard destination itself

Under Advanced, you can exclude additional source channels and optionally ignore messages containing links or attachments. Announcement posts appear as normal Starboard mirrors and are not crossposted automatically.

Synchronization and cleanup

When a source reaches the threshold, Guardy posts one mirror with a safe excerpt, source channel, eligible count, and jump link. Adding or removing reactions updates the count. Falling below the threshold removes the mirror; crossing it again may recreate one.

Editing an eligible source refreshes its mirror. Deleting the source removes the mirror. If a moderator deletes the Starboard post directly, Guardy treats that as deliberate suppression and will not repost it. An owner can review the source link under Suppressed posts and choose Allow again.

Turning a board or the module off stops new highlights while Guardy continues safety cleanup for mirrors that already exist. Removing a board deletes its mirrors but never deletes source messages.

History and recovery limits

Guardy reconciles messages it already knows about after a restart or configuration change. It does not scan old channel history when you enable a board or change its emoji. Reactions on messages Guardy never observed during an outage cannot be discovered without a new matching event.

If Guardy loses access to a source or destination, the dashboard shows a repair state rather than choosing another channel. Restore the named permission or channel, then use the provided retry action.

Privacy

Only messages whose audience can be verified and preserved at the destination are eligible. Guardy's database stores Discord IDs, reaction counts, delivery state, and timestamps needed for synchronization. It does not retain copied message text, attachment URLs, author IDs, or reactor IDs.
