Use AutoMod to respond consistently to unwanted words, phrases, and spam.

Start with one protection

1. Open AutoMod and create a protection from a recommended starting point or a blank rule.
2. Choose what it catches: one phrase, a word list, an advanced pattern, or spam and flooding.
3. Choose a proportionate response, such as warning, deleting the message, timing out, kicking, or banning.
4. Exempt the staff roles or channels that genuinely need an exception.
5. Decide whether a match counts toward your server's strike ladder, then save.

Use Link filter for links and invites. Do not create a general content rule and expect it to filter links.

Test before relying on it

Try one harmless example that should match and one that should not in a private channel. Check the resulting case or log entry and make sure staff know how to respond to a false positive.
