Community events
Plan a game night, stream meetup or community session in the dashboard. Guardy posts an invitation in Discord with Going, Maybe and Clear RSVP buttons. Community events is free on every plan.
Create an event
- Open Community events in your server's dashboard and turn the module on.
- Choose Create event.
- Enter an event name, start date and time, and the channel to post in. Text and announcement channels are supported.
- Optionally add Where, Details or a Capacity. Leave capacity empty for unlimited places.
- Leave the one-hour channel reminder on, or turn it off. Enable Repeat every week if you want a regular event.
- Save the event. Guardy posts the invitation in the chosen channel.
The date picker shows the server timezone. This timezone is saved with the event, including a weekly series. Guardy needs permission to view the channel, send messages and embed links.
You can have up to 50 upcoming events. Each weekly series counts as one event.
RSVPs and reminders
Members use Going or Maybe on the invitation. A new choice replaces their previous choice. Clear RSVP removes it. The invitation and dashboard show response counts, not measured attendance.
RSVPs are visible to members who can view the invitation's channel. Choose Participants to see who has responded. The participant list and your RSVP confirmation open privately; the RSVP itself is shared with the channel's members.
Capacity and the waitlist
Set an optional capacity from 1 to 1,000 Going places. Once those places are full, choosing Going joins the waitlist. Maybe does not take a place.
When a place opens, Guardy moves the longest-waiting member to Going automatically. A removal caused by leaving the server or erasing personal data is picked up on a subsequent event check. The invitation and participant list show the updated responses; promotion does not send a personal DM.
The optional reminder posts to the same channel one hour before the start. It does not send personal DMs or mention everyone. An event created less than an hour before it starts gets the invitation without an extra reminder.
Replies to an old, cancelled or already-started event cannot add an RSVP. If an invitation is replaced, use the buttons on the new post.
Repeat every week
Weekly events keep the same local weekday and time, including across daylight-saving changes. When an occurrence starts, Guardy prepares the next week and posts a new invitation. RSVPs start fresh each week.
If Guardy misses an occurrence while offline, it moves forward to a future occurrence rather than posting old invitations. A local time skipped by a daylight-saving change moves forward by that clock change.
Edit, cancel and recover
Edit updates the existing invitation and keeps current RSVPs. Once the invitation has been posted, its channel is fixed. To move it, cancel the event and create a new one.
Changing the start time does not send a second reminder if one has already been sent. For a weekly event, Skip this occurrence closes the current invitation and moves to the next week with fresh RSVPs. Cancel stops the event, including future occurrences of a weekly series, and closes its RSVP buttons.
If the dashboard reports a posting problem, follow the message beside the event. Restore missing channel permissions first. Before choosing Post again, check Discord for an existing invitation: a delivery may have succeeded even if its confirmation did not return. Reposting replaces the invitation used for RSVPs and does not replay an uncertain reminder.
This feature posts Guardy invitations and RSVP buttons. It does not create Discord's native Scheduled Events.
